Adventure Trip Leader

David is a veteran of the U.S. Army and holds a BS in Physics from James Madison University, a Masters in Natural Science from WPI, a Masters in Healthcare Improvement from Dartmouth, and doctoral work in Education Policy at UMass.  He was an aerospace engineer who worked on NASA’s space suit and Space Shuttle projects, before moving on to healthcare.  He has taught whitewater kayaking and canoeing instructors for over 30 years and is an ACA Level 5 Whitewater Kayak instructor.  He raced slalom whitewater kayak and canoe and was the 1993 National Champion.  He climbed Mount Rainier and completed two canoe expeditions in the Arctic.  He is a ski instructor in Vermont with PSIA certifications in Alpine Level 3, Children’s Specialist Level 2, and Telemark Level 1.  He facilitates high-ropes, low-ropes, and team-building in Massachusetts, is a certified lifeguard and Wilderness First Responder, and climbs, paddles, and bikes.  He has been teaching people ever since he was 12 years old.  Nowadays he can usually be found outdoors, no matter the weather.
