Chris’s mom, Shiei, shared that Chris has not been on a bike in over 15 years. In fact, “he wouldn’t get on an elephant at a circus after we waited in line for 45 minutes!” She wasn’t sure what to expect when she signed him up for a Tandem Cycling program with Waypoint.
Shiei said “I was the one who was worried about this adventure… but apparently not Chris! He had a great time and he said ‘YES’ when I asked him if he liked the ride!”
Shiei went on to say, “This could not have happened without your delicate and clear instruction to Chris with patience. It was huge for me to see him listening to you! None of his previous service providers could believe that [he did this]!”
On Waypoint Adventure programs, there is always a level of risk to manage, a challenge to overcome – big or small. We often find that people listen carefully to instructions, they focus in, they surprise their parents or care-givers! It’s the transforming power of adventure!
